U13 v Atherstone (away) Cup, 31/05/09
Atherstone 154 for 2
Atherstone chose to bat and immediately went on the offensive with 3 out of their 4 openers retiring for 30. Rashurd Ali picked up the only wicket. A total of 154 was posted on this very warm day on the artificial wicket.
Kings Heath 142 for 5
Umar and Josh opened for Kings Heath knowing they had to reach their top score of the season. Both batsmen hit out and retired for 30 each. Ben Rattley came in at number 3 and stayed at the crease until the last over and also reached 30. Rashurd batted well to reach 25. The target was just too high and with the Atherstone fielders playing well on the boundaries the figure of 142 was achieved.
Atherstone go through to the next round.

U13 v Sutton (cup), 04/05/09
U13 Cup – Kings Heath v Sutton, 04/05/09
Sutton batted first to make a respectable total of 105 for 7.
Sutton opener John Sargeant batted skilfully and got to 41 including five boundaries. He faced fast bowling from Rashurd Ali (1 wkt) and medium pace from Naveed Uddin (1 wkt) with Hassan Farooq, Luke Turner, Tom Boyce and Ben Rattley in support. Umar Rehman came on and delivered a straight ball that was caught by Tom Boyce at cover. Umar (2 wkts) and Louie Turpie (3 wkts) then went about some tight and lively overs to see Sutton complete their 20 overs for 105.
Kings Heath began their response with Callum Bird and Umar Rehman facing pace bowling. Following Callum's dismissal to a straight ball that didn't rise, Josh Baker came in to hit an assured 26. He and Umar put on 39 before Umar was caught at point and Josh at mid off. Louie and Ben Rattley built a partnership with Louie reaching 13 before being caught at cover. Ben was joined by Naveed Uddin and together they put on what seemed like a match winning 26 with Naveed piling on the pressure with three boundaries.
The tension rose in the last over when Kings Heath required seven from six balls to win. Six runs were achieved from the first four balls when Naveed was caught and bowled from the fifth. Bravely Rashurd Ali came to the crease having to get bat to ball. He was adjudged to be LBW, and both teams completed their 20 overs for 105, but because of a one wicket advantage Kings Heath were victorious.
It went to the very last ball with the scores level, but Kings Heath won by merit of losing fewer wickets.
